Tjalling, a four-piece from Eindhoven, is not 'just' a band. Their very first song ever written was decided to be one very long piece of music that could eventually be put out as one record. "Two people holding hands", released in summer 2017, foremost bears a lot of atmosphere: quieter, lingering post-rocky moments are built up towards heavier pieces of music. The female vocals by Dany van Dorst are vivacious: at points having a clear dreampop and wave-like feel to them, to burst out suddenly in screams in the vein of e.g. Julie Christmas of noiserockbands Battle of Mice/Made Out Of Babies. Clearly the end of Tjallings debut album bears this vibe. Tjalling combines a lot of different atmospheres to build one organic piece of atmospheric rock. A must-see!
